About Us

The Health and Counseling Center is staffed with a variety of health professionals who provide medical and mental health care to all students. The staff has extensive experience in meeting the unique health needs of both traditional and non-traditional college students.

The staff consists of physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, professional nurses, licensed professional counselors and administrative personnel, all who support the mission of the Health and Counseling Center.

All students are entitled to use the Health and Counseling Center free of charge since every student pays a health fee as part of the UNC Asheville cost of attendance. Most services are provided free of charge or at a nominal fee. A student's health insurance does not impact his/her ability to access these on-campus services.
